6 Reasons Why You Should Give to CCVI this Giving Season
Between Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday, Christmas, and the New Year, the unofficial ‘giving season’ has finally arrived. With numerous businesses and organizations seeking donations, the process of deciding where you'd like your contributions to make the most impact can be both overwhelming and stressful.
Here are 6 reasons to make an impact for CCVI students this giving season.
Your gift impacts more than just our children, but also their families.
As CCVI provides care to children with visual impairments, parents begin to see and experience what their child CAN do rather than cannot. As their children continue to work with CCVI, families are filled with more confidence and are given more hope for the future.
Your donations help serve a minority group that is often lost amongst the crowd.
While the blind population represents only a small percent of the general population, it is steadily growing due to medical advancements that enable more premature babies to survive, often with a visual impairment, such as Cortical Visual Impairment (a neurological disorder) and other related disabilities. Regardless of the relatively small numbers, your donations play a crucial role in fostering the success and integration of this expanding community into the sighted world. This year alone CCVI has already traveled 65,419 miles serving our community!
As a nonprofit, CCVI largely depends on YOUR donations.
This year, over 40% of CCVI’s revenue came from generous donations like yours. This means that we couldn’t do what we do for kids without YOU. All these funds are used to support our organization that provides services like physical therapy, speech and language therapy, classroom activities, augmentative and alternative communication devices (AAC), and more! Your donations directly affect and improve the quality of care we provide in the classroom.
As a monthly donor, you help build a community beyond the CCVI building!
Only 33% of CCVI’s work is on campus, beyond that we travel out into communities, homes, and schools to serve children and their needs. Beyond that, we stay connected with our new, existing, and graduated families through several events like Beep Kickball and Trolley Run!
CCVI is committed to serving children and their families from all backgrounds.
CCVI serves all children regardless race, ethnicity, beliefs or ability to pay. With 50% of our students coming from lower-income homes, we work with families and school districts to ensure they can still receive services and give their child the best specialty care they deserve.
Every month, you’ll know your contributions give children with visual impairments the tools and resources they need to become more independent.
CCVI customizes each child's curriculum based on what will lead them down the path to their highest potential. CCVI offers several programs and therapies such as aquatic therapy, speech-language therapy, physical and occupational therapy, adaptive technology, and more to our children. Your donations help keep us up to-date with the latest technology and services best suited for our children!
