Why CCVI exists and where we’re heading
Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired was founded nearly 75 years ago, thanks to a dedicated group of educators that believed that a diagnosis did not define the potential of a child. In the decades that followed, our mission expanded across different facilities, across different age ranges, and different methods of service. However, the people who execute our mission and the reasons in which we choose to participate in this work remains the same. Now, we seek to build a path forward, expanding opportunities so every child can reach their highest potential.
Our vision:
Empowered children, who thrive in an equitable system of support, regardless of their visual impairment.
