high quality providers serving in districts
We improve the Midwest region by focusing our attention on three outcomes— the quality of vision related services being delivered to children birth to 21, the filling of teaching and therapy role vacancies in the area, and the long-term success rate of students who are blind and visually impaired. We contract with over 20 school districts and charter schools across the area. The school districts that we support are our key partners. The Mobile Outreach for Vision Education Program is for:
School Districts that are struggling to fill open positions, such as teachers of the visually impaired, certified orientation and mobility specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologist, and want to have student success on outcomes.
Buildings that have a student(s) who needs ongoing services to meet Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compliance standards, such as access to Braille lessons, Braille adapted materials, or one-time services, such as learning media assessments and functional vision evaluations. This is mandated in Missouri through the B.R.I.T.E. Act.
Charters that are searching for solutions to special education to ensure that they make a difference in the lives of their students with exceptionalities, even if there is only one or a few students requiring related services.
