We welcomed the holiday season with Gingerbread Lane® at Webster House Nov 30. Local pastry chefs wowed us once again with 14 wonderful gingerbread creations which were on display at the Webster House for a full week. Three chefs were awarded prizes during CCVI's Evening at Webster House. Cheri Elder won Best in Show, Monica Smith took second place and won the Country Club Compeitition while Ginny Pilarz took third place. Pamala Lair won the People’s Choice award.
Our annual Holiday Luncheon ath the Carriage Club featured our very own alum, Grace Cogan, along with USABA athlete Mary Winter. Grace shared how CCVI prepared her for life outside our walls. Mary shared her story of not only losing her sight but also being paralyzed for a short time and overcoming those obstacles. We were also thrilled by the generosity of our luncheon guests who donated nearly $12,000 to our Family Emergency Assistance Fund. We’ll be sharing stories about how the fund helps our families in the months to come.
The week wound up with Breakfast with Santa at Webster House. Nearly 150 guests enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet prepared by the Webster House plus a little one-on-one time with Santa. Reames Photography provided family photos with Santa.
Mark your calendars now for the 2016 Gingerbread Lane® at Webster House. The gingerbread houses will be on display inside Webster House beginning Nov. 28 with Evening at Webster House on Nov. 30, our Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 2 and Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 3. More details and ticket information coming soon. Many thanks to The Webster House for hosting us again.
