2009 Sabates Eye Centers Trolley Run
Race Information

 

The 21st Annual Sabates Eye Centers Trolley Run is Sunday, April 26.

Packet Pick-up: 

Ward Parkway Center, 86th and State Line Roads in Kansas City, MO

4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 23

10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 24  

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 25

                        

Runner/Walker Waves:

Red:  30 minutes or faster

Blue:  30 to 36 minutes

Green:  36 to 45 minutes

Yellow:  Slow runner/jogger

Orange:  Fitness walker

White: Leisure walkers -- strollers allowed in this wave only!

Notice:

For your safety, no runners with pets, bikes, rollerblades, motorized vehicles, headsets, headphones or ear buds permitted. Baby strollers are allowed in the WHITE WAVE only. No animals except those assisting the blind.

6:00 – 7:30 a.m. Late Registration at Start, 75th and Wornall

6:00 to 7:45 a.m.  Music and Warm-up festivities

                             Transportation to Start from The Plaza

7:30 a.m. Wheelchair, red and blue waves, get in your waves!

7:45 a.m.  Race starts (Wheelchair, red and blue waves)

8:00 a.m.  All other runners, be in your specific wave.

8:15 a.m.  Walkers, get in your wave.

8:45 – 11:00 a.m.  After-Bash on The Plaza

10:15 a.m.  Kids’ Trolley Run (see below)

Transportation and Parking:

Race starts promptly at 7:45 a.m. with walkers starting around 8:20 a.m. Park your car on The Plaza. Or better yet, carpool to the Plaza! Buses will take runners/walkers to starting line from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Do not wait for the last bus – arrive early!



 

Kids' Trolley Run

Race Information:

A non-competitive fun run for kids 10 and under at Mill Creek Park on The Plaza. 1-6 year olds run on grass according to age group. 7 -10 year olds run on track, either a quarter-mile short course or a half-mile long course. Parents are welcome to run with their children. No strollers allowed. Entertainment begins at 9 a.m. with the race beginning at 10:15 a.m.

The first Michael Forbes Trolley Run in 1989 raised $13,000 for CCVI with 778 runners participating. In 2001 the Sabates Eye Centers became title sponsor of the Trolley Run which remains the largest four-mile run in the U.S. as well as the home of the U.S. men's and women's four-mile records.
